<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Digital TV software specialist Ocean
Blue Software has released its Triton MHEG-5 and CI+ Authoring Tool as
an open source, royalty-free product for application authors and
developers. The authoring tool developed by Ocean Blue includes many of
the features commonly found in professional integrated development
environments (IDEs) and allows developers to create dynamic and
visually impressive graphical user interface applications for digital
TV platforms. <br>
<br>
According to Ocean Blue, with Triton any designer who is familiar with
tools such as Microsoft Visio or Macromedia Dreamweaver will be able to
build dynamic and visually impressive graphical UI applications quickly
and easily.</p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"> </p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Ocean Blue is releasing all the source
code for the tool to the open source community free of charge. Ken
Helps, CEO of Ocean Blue, said that as a player in the digital TV
industry, Ocean Blue feels it has a responsibility to contribute
towards the progression of both the MHEG and CI+ markets. With the
release of Triton to the open source community, they hope to encourage
developers to get creative and develop innovative TV applications which
will in turn benefit end users and broadcasters.<br>
</p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Ocean Blue Software has also developed
a PC simulator tool which is available for purchase. The simulator
allows developers to test and debug their application on a personal
computer.</p>
