[hack] Risoluzione schermo

Ciao a tutti, 
usando la mia Debian Sarge come UNICA distribuzione/Sistema Operativo
sul mio pc,  ed avendo risolto, grazie a questa lista,delle imperfezioni
nella configurazione automatica derivate in parte dall'installazione
della stessa e in parte dal mio hardware ( tipo scheda sonora usb
esterna ), vi propongo una ulteriore domanda. 
Il monitor 17'' che con il sistema operativo del sig. Gates aveva una
risoluzione 1024x768 a 60hz, me lo ritrovo con una risoluzione a 800x600
e da GUI non posso aumentare la risoluzione, ma eventualmente
diminuirla.
Allego parte del file :/etc/X11/XF86Config-4
che "dovrebbe" essere quello da modificare, per sapere se è sufficiente
modificare questo e come modificarlo.

Il driver della scheda va bene è un sis 300/500...
pertanto è sufficiente aggiungere in ogni riga Modes "1024x768"????
Così semplice????
