direi s/estenuante/esaustiva/ o completa
significato 2 in http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/exhausting
e mi sembra che il "non" vada davanti "...non essendo un file chiave
regolare..." perché mi sembra che esistano "file regolari" e "file
speciali" e non esistano "file non regolari" ma cambia poco

letteralmente è "Quanto spesso...", ma non capisco cosa vuol dire,
forse che dopo un errore non puoi riprovare prima che siano trascorsi
