I tested the package Ale suggested and it is working for all the main functionalities an archaeologist needs. What do you think @Fabrizio: can we add it into Hypatia's repos while we wait to update our source package? MeshLab 1.3.2 is a critical version, while they did a strong bugfixing in version 1.3.3.
