Qui dice che il kernel supporta il ppp, quindi ok.
L'interfaccia ppp0 viene creata a connessione avvenuta, quindi ok.

Ecco l'inghippo: non trova la password per l'autenticazione.
Come hai effettuato la configurazione di preciso?

Consiglio: verifica che l'utente appartenga al gruppo dialout.
