64 mega per un firewall mi sembrano tantini, considera che il mio
firewall qui al lavoro ne ha 128, ma ho anche 150 macchine dietro di lui
fra cui il mail server che fa circa un migliaio di mail al giorno e il
web server con 500.000 pagine viste al giorno.

Leggendo (poco) dal link che hai postato ho visto che è praticamente
identico a gibraltar (http://www.gibraltar.at/), solo che devil-linux
richiede minimo 64 mega di ram e un 486

mentre gibraltar solo 32 e un 486 che per casa anche se hai una adsl
basta e avanza

Gibraltar raccomanda un pentium con 64 mega di ram, ma ti dicono anche
che:

Normally, a Pentium class PC can handle multiple 100 MBit/s interfaces
for routing, NAT and firewalling without problems.  

Tra l'altro gibraltar è basata su debian, per cui puoi aggiornare,
aggiungere/togliere pacchetti  senza problemi via apt.
