In un attimo ho trovato la risposta, era molto semplice la procedura,
ho cercato su google "activy 300 linux siemens" e il primo link diceva:

 The Activy 300 uses the EM8400. There is no real Open Source driver for the
 EM8400.

quindi il 24 Aug 2001 02:37:52 +0200 non era supportata ma era in developing
probabilmente adesso si saranno fatti passi in avanti, scaricati i driver da
http://www.linux-dvb.tv/download/ 
oppure compila il kernel 2.5.4? che dovrebbe includere i driver per le
schede DVB.

io ho acquistato una scheda DVB (non ricordo il modello) ma non ho mai avuto
il tempo di provare ad utilizzarla (è ancora imballata) :-(
