[Tech] regolazione hardware clock via rete

Ciao a tutti!  :)
Ho creato il file /etc/ppp/ip-up.local, come segue:

   # adjust system and hardware clocks

   rdate -s www.clock.org
   hwclock --systohc

Questo script viene eseguito da /etc/ppp/ip-up

Lo scopo e' quello di regolare via rete (ad ogni connessione)
l'orologio di sistema e quello hardware.

Tuttavia, ho letto nella manpage di hwclock che l'orologio di sistema
non gradisce discontinuita':

 It  is important that the System Time not have any discon­
 tinuities such as would happen if you  used  the  date(1L)
 program  to  set it while the system is running.  You can,
 however, do whatever you want to the Hardware Clock  while
 the  system is running, and the next time Linux starts up,
 it will do so with the adjusted  time  from  the  Hardware
 Clock.   You  can  also  use  the  program  adjtimex(8) to
 smoothly adjust the System Time while the system runs.

Come faccio a regolare via rete *solo* l'orologio hardware, senza
toccare quello di sistema?
