Ciao a tutti !!!

Ho un problemone.
Ho un portatile, un asus 8400, che monta come scheda video:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 4c59
02:01.0 Multimedia audio controller: ESS Technology ES1988 Allegro-1 (rev 12)
02:01.1 Communication controller: ESS Technology ESS Modem (rev 12)

Ho installato X win 4 e con dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 non funziona,
mi da questo errore:

(**) |-->Input Device "Configured Mouse"
(**) |-->Input Device "Generic Mouse"
(WW) The directory "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic" does not exist.
        Entry deleted from font path.

        Entry deleted from font path.
(**) FontPath set to "unix/:7100,/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc"

Io ho installato solo xfonts-base.
E poi:

Fatal server error:

Io ho provato come driver ati, atimisc, e radeon. Ma sempre lo stesso
errore.

Nel mio XF86Config-4:

Section "Device"
        Identifier "ATI Radeon Mobility"
        Driver "radeon"
        VideoRam 16000
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
        Identifier "ASUS 8400"
        HorizSync 31.5-48.5
        VertRefresh 40-70
        Option "DPMS"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
        Identifier "Default Screen"
        Device "ATI Radeon Mobility"
        Monitor "ASUS 8400"
        DefaultDepth 24
        SubSection "Display"
                Depth 1
                Modes "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
        EndSubSection
        SubSection "Display"
                Depth 4
                Modes "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
        EndSubSection

eccetera eccetera.

Ora, con la redhat 7.2 tutto funziona benissimo. Ho preso il file di
configurazione creato da anaconda, ma mi da sempre lo stesso problema.

Che faccio? Non voglio installare redhat !!! Non mi funziona piu' afs !!!
