ciao a tutti,
dopo varie peripezie sono riuscito a trovare i moduli per il modem interno del 
mio portatile, compilo(nessun errore), come da INSTALL, faccio modprobe pctel 
e modprobe ptserial, mi dice che deve usare delle librerie che non sono sotto 
GPL, ma il modulo viene caricato, ma sia con minicom(che si blocca e se ne 
frega dellì input) ,  wvdialconf(che non mi fa vedere nessun modem), e kppp 
(che lo vede ma il modem quando gli dico dice comporre sta muto e non 
risponde ).....


a questo punto mi sono letto la FAQ che dice che proprio su questo modello :
10. Modem not responding

If wvdial reports that the modem is not responding, pppd locks up, or
minicom blocks keyboard input, this could be due to a conflict with
the sound driver (this problem has been observed in an on-board sound
system involving the SiS7018 audio controller, but may affect other
systems too). Unfortunately in this situation sound and modem support
are mutually exclusive. To use the modem it is necessary to disable
the kernel sound driver. Either use a kernel without built in sound
support, or in the case of a modularised kernel, disable loading of
the sound driver module. This can be done by editing the file
/etc/modules.conf and commenting out the line associating a sound 
slot with the sound driver module, ie.

#alias sound-slot-0 trident

io l ho fatto ma il modem continua a non rispondere...
sarà per colpa della stringa di inizializzazione io in questo momento ho 
quella di default ATZ va cambiata?!?
