[Tech] Rsh e PVM non vanno

Salve a tutti!

(mi scuso con chi segue anche debian-italia)

Sto impazzendo con RSH. Ho da installare un piccolo cluster su 
cui far girare PVM. Mi chiede, per poter funzionare, una variabile
d'ambiente $PVM_ROOT. (ho sarge)

Allora, se faccio:

max@fourier ~ $ rsh localhost 'ls'
0003
Backup
book
conflagr

tutto sembra funzionare

Ma invece se faccio
max@fourier ~ $ rsh localhost 'echo $PVM_ROOT'

max@fourier ~ $

Non va niente. Ovviamente, 
max@fourier ~ $ echo $PVM_ROOT
/afs/mascanc.net/users/m/max/pvm3
max@fourier ~ $

e' correttamente settata. Qualche aiuto? L'ho messa nel .bashrc,
infatti:
max@fourier ~ $ rsh localhost 'source .bashrc; echo $PVM_ROOT'
/afs/mascanc.net/users/m/max//pvm3
max@fourier ~ $

e ovviamente PVM mi dice:
pvm> add fourier
add fourier
0 successful
                    HOST     DTID
                 fourier Can't start pvmd

The value of the $PVM_ROOT environment
variable on fourier is invalid ("").
Use the absolute path to the pvm3/ directory.

Non so che fare! Aiuto!
