[FoLUG]Squid

Ciao a tutti,
Squid e' un altro servizio (del quale non ne conosco la funzione) che mi
crea problemi alla chiusura del Sistema.
Nelle schermate di chiusura mi compare infatti: Arresto Squid [FALLITO]
Questo problema mi e' insorto dopo l'aggiornamento con il Mandrake
Update 8.2.
Il mio output di "man squid" e': No manual entry for squid.
L'unica e sintetica info che sono riuscito ad ottenere su squid e' la
seguente: 
Squid - Internet Object Cache. Internet object caching is a way to store
requested internet object (i.e., data available via the http, ftp, and
gopher protocols) on a system closer to the requesting site than to the
source. Web browsers can then use the local Squid cache as a proxy http
server, reducing access time as well bandwidth consumption.
Visto che l'inglese non e' il mio forte ed il servizio non lo conosco,
mi sapreste dire se posso "farlo fuori"? :-p
