Il mio consiglio cade sui seguenti componenti:
- mobo gigabyte k8nspro con chipset nforce3 250
- cpu amd athlon64 socket 754 (3200 o 3400)
- memorie dipende quello che vuole spendere ce ne sono da tutti i prezzi.
  se non vuole overclockkare delle ddr400 normali vanno bene
- hd io continuo a preferire gli eide normali. secondo me sono validi i 
maxtor
  nei tagli da 80 e 160 GB purchè con buffer da 8mb (leggi la serie P0)
il socket 939 costa ancora un sacco e secondo me non ne vale la pena. 
nel caso
starei sempre su nforce come chiset. Uso questa configurazione da mesi con
grande soddisfazione. La stabilità e le performance sono ottime. 
Sicuramente
nel mondo x86 gli amd64 al momento sono le cpu migliori in assoluto.
