Sei ancora su debian a 32bit? in quel caso l'athlon si comporta come un 
32bit.
Su gentoo ho:

ma la mia e' tutta compilata a 64bit. Tra l'altro quando faccio make 
menuconfig
in quell'opzione non la vedo neanche.
