[FoLUG] Niente più filmati in ubuntu

Improvvisamente Ubuntu non mi fa vedere più i filmati.
Totem mi dà errore all'apertura di un dvd oppure, se lancio un file .VOB 
si vede ma va ad 1 fotogramma ogni 5 secondi.

Con VLC lanciato da console mi scrive sta pappardella e poi si chiude.
Qualche idea su dove mettere le mani?.
