[FoLUG] Domanda niubba su come trovare driver per periferiche usb

Premetto che ho letto la risposta tramite l'archivio
on-line, perché a me non è arrivata.
Dopo aver lanciato dmesg e aver ottenuto varie decine
di righe di output, sono riuscito a capire che il
dispositivo in questione ha a che fare con
"[81835.540000] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device
using ohci_hcd and address 9".
In var/log/messages leggo:

Ma credo che la periferica in questione sia "usb 2-1".
P.S.
Windows non la rileva come memoria di massa: appena
collego la periferica al pc, c'è un programmino che
devo tenere attivo che si chiama Device detector e che
provvede, appunto, a rilevare la connessione del
device e a lanciare l'apposito programma per gestirlo.
