Dunque, l'ho lanciato da terminale e questo è stato il responso:

Così ho provato con sudo k3b e in effetti è cambiato qualcosa:

L'applicazione è partita, il processore è schizzato al 100% per un tot di
tempo, si è visto lo splash screen e una finestra dietro, poi è apparso un
mesaggio di errore che diceva che l'applicazione non risponde e così ho
forzato l'uscita (come si vede dall'ultima riga, client killed).
