[FoLUG] Nagios

Buongiorno a tutti

sono Silvio , di Cervia , ho avuto il piacere di conoscere alcuni di voi , tra cui Riccardo ed Andrea 

giusto giovedi scorso alla riunione serale.

Seguendo il suggerimento di Riccardo 

volevo porre all'attenzione generale il seguente soggetto :

pur non essendo del mestiere , pichè , sono un semplice impiegato 

mi son trovato a dover installare su una serie di macchine ubuntu/centos

il sistema di monitoraggio Nagios

seguendo le istruzioni trovate on line 

ho installato in tutte le macchine il core ed un plugin consigliato 

da nagios.org

cercando di darmi da fare sono riuscito in quasi tutte le macchine a configurare anche apache2 

affinchè potessi vedere dal browser alcuni servizi standard offerti dal sistema

alcune di queste macchine , mi inviano ( non tutte ) perfino un messaggio email sul telefonino

per avvisarmi di eventuali eventi critici .

questa è la teoria .

1 - in realtà pur avendo configurato il minimo di default in tutte le macchine , non tutte mi inviano dei messaggi

2 - i messaggi sono di default , vorrei invece che questi arrivassero SOLO ( e non ogni 1h ) se raggiunti alcuni valori critici 
     che devo ESSERE IO ad impostare - per ogni singola macchina , load , max jobs running , disco pieno,  etc

3 - cosa piu importante , la richiesta fattami senza via di fuga , è quella di fare in modo che non siano le singole macchine         ad interagire con me LOL ma : che sia un Master , un Server , una macchina a scelta , che monitori tutte le altre 20 
      e che  ( in base ai limiti e pregi di ogni singola ) mi avvisi via email , una per tutte 

4 - trovare un sistema che nel caso di un load troppo alto , mi killi ( sempre una per tutte ) il job che lo ha procurato e che eventualmente mi riavvii lo stesso o mi avvisi del kill

5 - riattivare un ssh or un apache2 o un http nel caso che questi siano giu

6 - avvisare nel caso di un fily system compromesso che magari non permette la scrittura

7 - eventuali altri suggerimenti

---- a questo punto pur non essendo pratico -- ho cominciato a cercare info on line - soprattutto da nagios .org
ma per chi non è del mestiere - sembra di leggere in arabo . ma non per l inglese - ma per il fatto che un manuale prende
per scontato che si conosca qualcosa , che si abbia un minimo di base

mi sono scornato per giorni su siti e siti 
alla fine ero arrivato anche a modificare un file chiamato 
/sur/bin/nagios/etc/objects/localhost.cfg

illudendomi che da questo file potessi settare i valori critici o normali di ogni singola macchina    e di poter
poi proseguire passo passo

ma che , i messaggi continuano ad arrivare lo stesso , anche quando non serve e tutto il resto è come sopra.

Qualcuno sarebbe in grado di darmi una sufficiente consulenza per poter settare in maniera pratica questi pochi punti che ho evidenziato ?

essere rigirato ad altri manuali non è prorpio il caso perchè ne ho gia decine e non riesco ad interpretarli

come detto non sono del mestiere.

Naturalmente sarei disposto , se ragionevole , a gratificare la suddetta consulenza.
