The normal way of accessing the mirror is by putting these lines in 
/etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://debian.fastweb.it/debian stable main contrib non-free
deb http://debian.fastweb.it/debian-non-US stable/non-US main contrib non-free

(use unstable instead of stable if you want bleeding edge technology)
