[glux] connessione wireless con Ubuntu

Ciao,
ho installato ieri sera sul mio portatile (HP Compaq nx7300), Ubuntu 7.04... con l'installazione nessun problema... è bastato togliere un o' di spazio a Win e poi ha fatto tutto Ubuntu (tra l'altro è di una velocità estrema!). Il problema è che vorrei poter accedere ad in ternet in wireless: ho il modem/router di Alice (Alice Gate w2+)... per inciso, se collego il cavo eth al portatile nessun problema.
connette in automatico in un microsec.
Ho fatto lshw e mi mostra:

la prima dovrebbe essere la rete wireless e la seconda quella eth (con la quale sono connesso ora...)

e mi dice (ancora) "Access Point: Not-Associated " che... da quanto ho capito vuol dire che non sono connesso.
La connessione dovrebbe essere protetta da una chiave WPA (WPA E WPA-PSK sono sinonimi... vero?)... e quindi forse non funziona per quello... provo a installare wpasupplicant e scrivo wpa_supplicant.conf
