hi! i've re-installed the bios on this system, but i think it's probably the same version as before. it's the latest one available on the compaq web site, but the appear to have stopped working on hinotes when digital was killed by compaq and there's nothing after 1998. i've also installed linux v 2.4.10. and neither of those appear to have made any difference to the gpm problem. later will
