hi there,
i have been having some troubles with gpm-1.20.1rc1 under GNU/Linux
(linux-2.4.20, glibc-2.3.1, gcc-3.2.1, XFree-4.2.1).
The gpm deamon will decide randomly that it no longer knows what kind of
mouse i have, even though it will have been running fine for a while, and
i envoke it with "-t imps2 -m /dev/psaux". the error is
*** err [mice.c(1876)]: imps2: PS/2 mouse failed to read id, assuming standard PS/2
*** err [mice.c(1876)]: imps2: PS/2 mouse failed to read id, assuming standard PS/2
*** err [mice.c(1882)]: imps2: PS/2 mouse failed setup, continuing...
sometimes when i restart gpm i get
*** err [mice.c(1891)]: imps2: Auto-detected unknown mouse type 250, assuming standard PS/2
*** err [mice.c(1891)]: imps2: Auto-detected unknown mouse type 250, assuming standard PS/2
but the mouse doesnt work correctly
this often occurs when i login to X and discover a problem with the
mouse movement, or when i switch to the console on Alt-F1.
is this a known problem? and do you have any temporary fixes for it?
also, the Makefile in the doc directory utilises a tool called 'no' but there is
no check for this tool, so the build and install fails in this directory.
thanks in advance!
Sam
