Same here, I just wanted to add a devfs patch, now I am the maintainer.
But it's very nice to see other people are helping to improve gpm.

cvs is too much stress for me at the moment, a diff is better.

To tell truth, I had not many problems reading the source, and I didn't
see a need to change variables (half truth), but if you find something
more senseful, just tell me/make a diff and I will see if it is senseful
to apply it.

Generally I try to cleanup the code, too. So your ideas are welcome.
