[gpm]problem with the repeater of gpm

Hi!

As you can see, i got a problem with the repeater of gpm that appears
just with newer versions of gpm. Currently I'm using version 1.17.8-18.1
with XFree86 4.1.0-17.

I thought the repeater should speed up the mousepointer in X and in the
console, but with newer versions of gpm it just speed it up in the
console. In X the mousepointer is as slow as the direct use of
/dev/psaux.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
