strangely I had absolutely no problem following them. most notably
there was a link to

http://www.geocities.com/dt_or/gpm/patches/gpm-evdev-cumulative.patch.gz

which seems to be thought for gpm-1.20.1, and

http://w1.894.telia.com/~u89404340/touchpad/index.html

for X-support. I didn't follow the link to the rpms though:

and I am not a developer!
