[ImoLUG] aggiornamento molto strano... O_o

Ciao a tutti,
ieri pomeriggio mi è venuta la brillante idea di aggiornare il mio net 
con Debian wheezy (con xfce e Gnome).
Dal gestore pacchetti ho cliccato su "Seleziona aggiornamenti" e poi 
"Applica".
Mai successo...
Mi ha eliminato Java e me lo ha reinstallato nuovo nuovo, così mi è 
toccato scaricare i jar che avevo aggiunto
e rimettere mano a qualche file di configurazione.
Fin qui niente di grave...
Riavvio e mi ritrovo nel boot loader solo due voci, non c'è più windows.
Anche qui niente di irreparabile: faccio rigenerare grub.
Ma nella lista di sistemi non vedo più
Debian GNU/Linux, con Linux ecc...
ma mi ritrovo con
menuentry 'CrunchBang GNU/Linux, con Linux 3.2.0-4-686-pae' --class 
crunchbang --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os

CrunchBang??? E cos'è CrunchBang???

Cerco su Internet e trovo che:

"CrunchBang Linux è una distribuzione basata su Debian GNU/Linux 
caratterizzata dal leggero window manager Openbox e dal desktop 
environment Xfce."

ma io avevo installato sul mio net una distribuzione debian scaricata 
dal sito ufficiale (netinst) e fino a prima dell'aggironamento era 
debian e basta.
Cosa è successo???

Poi se vado nel monitor di sistema leggo:

Debian versione 7.2 (whezzy)
Kernel Linux 3.2.0-4-686-pae
Gnome 3.4.2
