Let's formulate it this way: can i force dpkg
just to ignore the dependancies, and do simple
'tar xfvz package', something similar to
'rpm -i -nodeps' ? Yesterday i have extracted 
package.tar.gz from package.deb with a simple 
deb2targz perl script, and then installed it
without any OOMs. But this is definitely
not the way how you would like to install
the whole distribution.
