On the USB front:

2.4 - USB works for me but not for fare. If anyone wishes to look at 
this, the source of the complete kernel I used is at

2.6 - USB does not work on 2.6.7, but I can't find a reason for that. I 
tried porting my patch ( 
http://www.arava.co.il/matan/jornada820/2.6.7-my4.gz ) to 2.6.8.1 but it 
did not boot. I'll try more seriously on 2.6.9 when it comes out.
