Oh my.

If you prefer spending hours porting kernel 2.6 to that old device
instead of e.g. buying a recent cell phone, then you may:

* Use git.
* Start from the Jornada 720 kernel from handhelds.org
* Somehow adapt the Jornada 820 changes we made for 2.4 in that new
2.6 framework.

Start with our 2.4 userland image, and try to use it with your 2.6 kernel.
