[LUG-Ischia] linux per ppc

hi,
i have a problema with a ppc.
i've decided to install the mandrake 8.2 on my mac. this is the first t=
ime
that i see a linux world.

the first time i have try to install linux from cdrom, i have erased al=
l
the partition apple and i have created only a linuppc root partition an=
d
swap partition. i have restarted and the result is that now i have lost=
 the
mac os and i can't start the installation from a bootable cd: i have pl=
ace
the cd rom on the drive and press the 'c' key but nothing do.

i have try to boot the cd from the Open Firmware keys: cmd+opt+o+f but =
the
screen is black and nothing do.

can i start the installation of linux os without a mac os system?

ho problemi con il mio ppc.
ho deciso di installare mandrake 8.2 sul mio mac. e' la prima volta che=

vedo il mondo linux.

la prima volta ho provato ad installare linux utilizzando un'utility da=
l
cdrom, ho cancellato tutte le partizioni apple e creato una sola partiz=
ione
linuxppc come root e una di swap. ho riavviato il computer ed il risult=
ato
e' che adesso non ho una sistema mac e il cdrom non parte per iniziare
l'installazione: ho messo il cdrom nel drive e riavviandolo ho tenuto
premuto il tasto 'c' ma niente da fare.

ho provato ad avviare l'installazione anche da open firmware con i tast=
i
cmd+opt+o+f ma ho come risultato uno schermo nero.

posso installare linux senza avere una partizione mac sulla macchina?
