Problemi con kppp

Salve gente,
non riesco a collegarmi con la mia Debian Sarge 3.1 a interfree o
libero. Ottengo questi errori 0 1 2 di kppp:


        0      Pppd  has detached, or otherwise the connection was
successfully
               established and terminated at the peer's request.

        1      An immediately fatal error of some kind  occurred,  such
as  an
               essential system call failing, or running out of virtual
memory.

        2      An error was detected in processing the options given,
such  as
               two mutually exclusive options being used.



e questo è il log di pppd:
Jun 22 20:44:08 localhost pppd[1556]: The remote system is required to
authenticate itself
Jun 22 20:44:08 localhost pppd[1556]: but I couldn't find any suitable
secret (password) for it to use to do so.
Jun 22 20:44:08 localhost pppd[1556]: (None of the available passwords
would let it use an IP address.)
