Dipende dal touchpad: ad esempio puo` essere visto come un mouse PS/2.
Nel qual caso, se vuoi usare contemporaneamente il touchpad *e* un mouse
USB (esterno):

Nota che puoi connettere e disconnettere `a caldo' il mouse USB, senza
alcun problema.
