[pxc] Difference between pxc and bttv

Hi list,

we want to use pxc200 framegrabber cards with RTAI-linux. RTAI is
basically a kernel patch together with some kernel extensions which
allow to run applications with real time requirements under linux. Our
grabbed images are not used in a real time context, consequently we can
use linux standard drivers for image acquisation. We want to grab only
individual images (no live video), preferably in reduced resolution.
Integration with video4linux is not a concern.

In this situation: What is the difference between the capabilities of
the pxc driver and the bttv driver which also support the pxc200 cards?

Thanks a lot

Jan
