Not really. The pxc driver is older than bttv: when I started the project
there was no video4linux or anything.  I maintained the driver as I have
a pair of installations around with a custom application using my API.

I'm not personally a fan of video4linux, but the pxc project is going
to die nonetheless, and has already reached irrelevance.
