Baptism, Chistening e Adult Christening

Ciao a tutti,

nella traduzione di GRAMPS (http://gramps.sf.net/), un programma per la
ricerca genealogica, ho incontrato i termini in oggetto ed ho avuto dei
seri problemi a tradurli.  Ho così chiesto agli autori del programma che
mi hanno fornito le seguenti definizioni, prese dalle specifiche GEDCOM,
un formato standard per la condivisione di informazioni genealogiche.

  From the GEDCOM specification:

  BAPTISM := The event of baptism (not LDS), performed in infancy or
  later.

  CHRISTENING := The religious event (not LDS) of baptizing and/or
  naming a child.

  ADULT_CHRISTENING := The religious event (not LDS) of baptizing and/or
  naming an adult person.

  So it seems they overlap a bit. A christening may be the same as a
  baptism, but then again, it may not. I'm glad that got cleared up :-)

Avete idea di come distinguere la traduzione di baptism da quella di 
christening?
