credo che sia meglio lasciare "patch ports" invariato (magari senza "s"):
"...il supporto nel kernel per le patch port OVS..."
perché a quando pare è un'impostazione nella configurazione del
programma simile a un collegamento con un cavo di rete che se fatto
fisicamente userebbe un "patch cable"; l'ho letto qui:
