[barcode] How to Install Barcode Software?

You have not specified your platform.  The software is built using
autoconf, so you should just be able to do
        configure
        make
        make check
        make install

on most unix-like systems.

I'm answering because the list has been silent since I submitted a
patch for Solaris.
