[barcode] How to Install Barcode Software?

You don't need to look it up on the web. You need to look for it in
the package. It's in the "doc" directory. The README file has
a pointer to online documentation, I'll add that the same material
is part of the same package where the README is found.

More practically, Hugh is right about what the commands are:

>         ./configure
>         make
>         make check
>         make install

but "make check" is not there
