Non mi pare ci sia nessun errore neanche qui. Però c'è un file
/var/log/Xorg.0.log.old      oppure      /var/log/Xorg.0.log (old)    
(non ricordo di preciso)

Potrebbe significare che, per qualche motivo, è stato riscritto il
file e così non funziona? Oppure è normale che ci sia?

E se provassi a seguire le indicazioni di [1] direttamente da linea di
comando in questa situazione? Potrei risolvere oppure rischio inutili
complicazioni di una situazione già compromessa?
