      e poi fare un fsck per tentare il recupero, e poi casomai
      marcare (ma come?) i blocchi come bad se non si potevano
      recuperare

Dal man di badblocks:

WARNING
       Never  use the -w option on an device containing an exist­
       ing file system.  This option erases data!  If you want to
       do  write-mode testing on an existing file system, use the
       -n option instead.  It is slower,  but  it  will  preserve
       your data.

da quello di e2fsck:

       -l filename
              Add the blocks listed  in  the  file  specified  by
              filename  to the list of bad blocks.  The format of
              this file is the same as the one generated  by  the
              badblocks(8) program.

Sarebbe meglio se tu gli facessi evitare un'intera area attorno ai
blocchi sciupati, visto che spesso il danno si estende col tempo.

 I bad block magari si possono recuperare, ma quasi sicuramente non
sarebbero affidabili. Meglio evitarli e basta.
