Grazie Marco,
avevo fatto quasi cosė ma tutto da interfaccia grafica
e la gestione pacchetti mi diceva che non poteva installarlo.
Ok ora sono pronto, ho fatto il pnpdump

Innanzitutto, il comando isapnpdump lo devi dare da root, altrimenti
l'utente
normale non lo "vede".
Anche da utente normale, apri un terminale, e batti
> rpm -qi isapnptools
(il carattere > sarebbe il tuo prompt, non devi batterlo).
Cosa dice? se dice "package isapnptools is not installed" devi installarlo.
Se
invece c'e', vuol dire che il comando isapnpdump c'e' e tu non avevi battuto
il comando come root.
Se invece devi installarlo, prendi il secondo (mi pare, o forse era il
primo?)
CD di RedHat, lo infili nel PC (e fin qui ci siamo....).
Hai delle chances che venga montato automaticamente. Se non avviene, di
solito
fare click sull'icona del CD aiuta.
Adesso, da root, vai nella directory /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS dovresti trovare
un file tipo isapnptools-xxxxx.rpm (dove al posto degli xxxxx c'e' la
versione. Quale che sia non ci interessa).
Adesso lo installi con il comando:
> rpm -ivh isapnptools*
e dovresti avere installato tra gli altri il comando isapnpdump
