ho trovato un link ad una pagina che parla del problema...

Alla voce "TROUBLESHOOTING: PROBLEMS WITH UUCP, CU, TIP, ETC."

dice:

Che se ho capito bene vuol dire che il modem potrebbe rimanere in
modo FAX e non riconoscere piu` i normali comandi. Ma mi sembra
improbabile: ATZ dovrebbe essere abbastanza per chiunque :), e poi se
il problema e` di permessi o di lock del device: non è questo il caso.

Per quel che riguarda i lock dice di fare attenzione a configurare tutti
i programmi per usare lo stesso metodo, ma forse è meglio l'originale
del mio riassunto :)
