Il 9-10  Ottobre  saro`    a  Cambridge, dove FIPR    (Foundation  for
Information  Policy Research,  http://www.fipr.org/) ha organizzato un
seminario sulla consultazione in questione.  Io  sono stato invitato a
partecipare e andro` a nome di (e pagato  da, giusto per dare a Cesare
quel che e` di Cesare) Media Innovation Unit - Firenze Tecnologia.

La mia intenzione e` di arrivare li` con  un documento riassuntivo che
contenga  le posizioni  delle  associazioni,   gruppi di pressione   e
affinita` e  dei singoli   che in  Italia  si  interessano   di questi
argomenti.   Sono  piu` o meno  quei  gruppi che ho  contattato per la
firma del commento alla consultazione sui DRM:

A breve  inviero` una mail  per annunciare la  raccolta di opinioni in
merito,   che dovrebbero  arrivare entro lunedi`    4 Ottobre.  Volevo
inviarla prima, ma purtroppo  l'organizzazione dei seminari di Firenze
World Vision e la  saluta non del tutto  al 100% mi  hanno rallentato.
Spero  comunque di mandare la  comunicazione  "ufficiale" entro questa
sera.

    The Foundation for Information  Policy Research (FIPR) will host a
    European workshop on the  consultation currently being run by  the
    European  Commission on  the EU legal  framework  in the field  of
    copyright and  related  rights (whose deadline   is at the end  of
    October).

    This   workshop is supported  by   the OSI IPR  and Public  Domain
    Program.

    This is an opportunity to discuss our  responses with consumer and
    user interest groups, academics and other  European partners in an
    open, informal forum. Participants  from the new EU member  states
    are especially     welcome.   Please forward  this    message   as
    appropriate.

    As well  as discussing the  issues in the Commission Staff Working
    Paper, we have an opportunity to put forward our own vision of the
    future. Topics might include the repeal of the Database Directive,
    DRM and competition policy,  the relationship between contract and
    copyright,  compulsory     licensing, a fruit-of-the-poisoned-tree
    clause, the  reform     of  collecting societies,   the    term of
    protection, and a campaign for a Digital Rights Directive.

    The  seminar  will take place in   Cambridge,  UK on  9-10 October
    2004.   An  agenda and further    information  will be  circulated
