come vedi l'esempio era di un file .tar.gz, non .tar.bz2

da man tar:

- -z, --gzip, --ungzip
       filter the archive through gzip
	      
- -j, --bzip2
       filter archive through bzip2, use to decompress .bz2 files
	      
quindi:

tar zvxf filename.tar.gz  (per i .tar.gz)
tar jvxf filename.tar.bz2 (per i .tar.bz2)
