Hello List!

Although there is really a need of a new version it will be delayed for
somew
weeks. The next gpm release will contain some bugfixes and a complete
new rewrite
of the gpm_debug_log function. There will be no direct
fprintf(stderr,...) somewhere
in the files. Hardwired output is removed and replaced by defines (this
maybe later
removed and replaced with variables to support internationalization; if
this is really needed
for a daemon...).

The next gpm version will still have bugs in the client code. I am
currently concentrating
on the server. As soon the server works like I expect, I will try to
cleanup
gpm-root, mev and co.

The next version I will announce on this list will not be public, it
will be a beta version [ because
of the new reporting code ] and I would like you all to test it.

In the next release the following patches will be included/not included:

Solar Designer:
gpm-1.19.6-owl-doc-mkinstalldirs.diff:
Not included. I removed mkinstalldir from Makefile. We don't need a
script
for mkdir. GPM does only run on Linux and needs the Linux
environment.
Linux mkdir supports the -p flag.
gpm-1.19.6-rh-no-ps.diff:
applied. I also removed the dependency on gpmdoc.txt. Textfile is
only
needed if the user really wishes to have it.
gpm-1.19.6-rh-gpm-root.diff:
   applied.
gpm-1.19.6-to-blaise.diff:
    applied.
