[gpm]Bad File Desriptor when starting gpm

I am using kernel 2.4.19, uClibc-0.9.15 and a ramdisk.  I receive a "Bad
File Descriptor" error at line 257 in pgn.c (gpm 1.19.6) after linking
and when attempting to open the linked file.


I've done some searching through the code, but so far I'm still not sure
why I'm getting this error?

Has anyone seen this before?  I assumed that it had something to do with
the filesystem on the ramdisk or read-write permissions, but I have
tried several variations with no luck.
