[gpm] gpm and framebuffer

Dear gpm-developpers,

does there anybody see a possibility to let gpm tell us
the coordinates of the mouse not only in text-modus
(e.g. 25x80, 48x128 etc.) but also in a high resolution
modus (for use with the framebuffer), e.g. for vga=0x317:
x = 1..1024, y = 1..768 ?

Thanks for any help in regard to that problem.
