LinuxLudus: Gentoo e scheda wireless

Questa è la mia scheda di rete wireless:
01:03.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG

Durante la configuazione del kernel ho selezionato il modulo relativo:

Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG and 2915ABG Network Connection (IPW2200)
"...The module will be called ipw2200.ko."


Ho provato a caricare il modulo con
# modprobe ipw2200
ma non lo trova.
Ho verificato anche con kfind.

Provo con esearch 2200 e trovo i seguenti risultati

Notare che ho installato il firmware perchè c'era scritto che era necessario

Provo ad emergere
# emerge net-wireless/ipw2200

Nella configurazione del kernel NON ho
Generic IEEE 802.11 Networking Stack (IEEE80211)
e figli impostati come built-in MA come moduli.
Verifico che nn sia caricato:

# lsmod | grep ieee
ieee1394               91128  1 ohci1394
Questo modulo non è quello menzionato nell'errore.

1-non capisco perchè il modulo ipw2200 non sia presente nonostante
l'abbia compilato col kernel.

2-cosa mi conviene fare? Ritentare a ricompilare i moduli del kernel?
Oppure trovare il modo di emergere sto modulo?

3-nel secondo caso, cosa devo disabilitare per riuscire ad emergere il modulo?
