[gpm]mouse on console

Hello,
I have just successfuly compiled and started gpm, but I don't see the
mouse on my console. I don't have X-window. I have built my linux
from scratch. Do I need any more libraries or is anything wrong?
I want only copy and paste by mouse on console.
