Forse è meglio togliere l'ultima virgola proma di "e premi Salva"

Inoltre, di solito si usa l'impersonale, mentre tu hai spesso usato la
forma diretta.
Questo pezzo potrebbe diventare: "Si selezioni un metatema esistente per 
il desktop, o se ne crei uno nuovo. Per modificare un tema, è necessario
cambiare le impostazioni nelle seguenti schede e premere \"Salva\"."

Ho come l'impressione (solo supposizione, non so come sia fatto
metatheme :) che questi siano i nomi dei temi di default, o che non
vadano tradotti... In particolare "Go" con "Vai" mi lascia perplesso...

Dal momento che non so cosa sia, preferirei lasciarlo intradotto...
